Ladies, when he comes to town form a single file line & take a number, cuz it's no secret why he choose a career in porn...uh, I mean entertainment! Born in DC, raised in NY this kidd is no stranger to the party scene. Brought down here by Kontrol in '99, this porn star keeps the party rockin' non-stop 24/7 with his high nrg style. Oh by the way, he is also starting to produce tracks... watch out!

LIVE WIRE was born in 1999. Both Kidd Star & Kontrol started the company with a dollar (actually some credit cards with ridiculous limits!) & a dream. Both from NY these two cats began their friendship at the early age of 6! With their undying love for music, both decided to give the music scene a swift kick in the junk by giving the Break beat scene a little NY flavor. Raised on Hip-Hop and NY House, both were blown away once they were introduced to the Funky Breakz. Brought into the Charlotte party scene by T-Nice, Kidd Star & Kontrol quickly got their feet wet by playing in a couple local clubs. After a few months, they were introduced to Hydraulic 31 Flavaz & Neumonic, three of Break beats finest. A couple nights out partyin' and a couple discussions later...they instantly became friends and the rest is history! Fuck charts & album sales... we do this shit for the love!!!

"...Steve & I, both from NY, met each other at age 2. We grew up together, going to same elementary, jr. high, and high school. We were always into music. My bus always arrived early, and Steve walked to school (this was before we could drive) so we were always the first ones at school. Instead of going into the cafeteria and waiting for them to ring the bell for our homeroom, we would stand outside with our headphones on listening to our latest rap tape (I always had to hide my house music tapes 'cause they thought was queer).

No one liked rap back then. We were engulfed in the hip-hop culture and would be lying if we said it didn't have a huge influence on us. When high school ended I stayed in NY for college in order to play f'ball, Steve went down South. Even though we didn't go to college with each other we always spent the summers in Ocean City, MD together working for a t-shirt company making t-shirts. We decided then that we wanted to start our own business together…we decided it should be a hip-hop label.

I grew out of rap, but I was still listening to house music and getting more involved in it and its culture. When I graduated from college I moved down to Charlotte to join forces with Steve. The plan was to move to CA when he graduated, but it is funny how plans change. We started out our label hip-hop, but I saw that the guys we had didn't have the drive we had or the perseverance. Two key ingredients in making it in the entertainment world. While Steve was djing frat parties & getting on our rappers about deadlines and stuff, I was out experiencing what Charlotte had to offer and raves. Introduced by my x-g'friend, I saw something that was untapped. The Breakbeat scene, which combines hip-hop and house. Everyone was doing stuff just to keep the scene going but nothing to further it, or let the masses experience it. One day I sat Steve down and said, "Let's do it ourselves. No one wants to see Live Wire succeed like we do, we can do it… but not in rap. In break beats." He agreed, and next thing ya know...we started dj'in, promoting, producing, basically emerging ourselves with every aspect of the scene.

We met up with two of break beats finest, Hydraulic & Neumonic. With them we got connected with some of the biggest names out there. We asked them to join our team and they agreed. Since then nothing has been more satisfying or enjoyable. Steve and I as well as Jason and Josh are following our dream, and even if we don't succeed at least we can say we tried. But I don't see that happening, no matter how many times we fall or how many 'no's' I get or 'it'll never happen'… I know what hard work is, I know how to sacrifice, I know dedication, I know how important the group is over the individual, and I know what it takes to make your dreams come true. I guess I have gone over on a tangent but that is how I get when I talk about our jobs, which is what we love… music, and partying!!!!"
